The capacity for innovation and resilience of youth is immense. The Alpine region must take advantage of these ideas to reinvent itself or to strengthen existing innovative initiatives. Thanks to the  “Alpine Changemaker Basecamp” motivated young people are given the opportunity to develop new future perspectives for a good life in the Alps with like-minded people.

The “Alpine Changemaker Basecamp” offers committed people between the ages of 18 and 30 the opportunity to advance their own ideas and projects for social change and sustainable development in the Alpine region. During the camp, coached phases alternate with inputs, self-organized work, peer-to-peer units, reflection and feedback loops, events and community tasks.

An international team of coaches from science (architecture, anthropology and environmental sciences), entrepreneurship, crafts, regional development, philosophy and art accompanies the participants in the implementation of their ideas. The experts provide them with various tools and offer different ways of thinking and new perspectives to facilitate the implementation of the projects.

After the Basecamp, a mentoring programme supports participants for a year in the implementation of their projects. They also get the opportunity to present their projects in an international forum and to act as mentors for further generations of “Alpine Changemakers”.

The “Alpine Changemaker Basecamp” is organised by the CIPRA International. This project is funded by the Mercator Foundation Switzerland.
