The alps are a second home to me, be it in summer for extended hiking excursions or in winter for ski rides on the slope. The Alps make up over 70% of the Swiss territory, so they play a paramount importance for the future development of Switzerland. Especially, in the transition to sustainable energy sources, there is a tremendous potential for its implementation in the alps. However, I find it also crucial that other key elements, such as ecology, are not disproportionately neglected in favour of climate change solutions or even economic development. With the participation in the EUSALP Youth Council, I would be delighted to play a role in the future development of my second home, the Alps!
