The pitch your project 2023 competition is ready to welcome new candidates and their projects!

As it has every year since 2018, the Pitch Your Project competition is ready to receive project ideas from young people living in the Alpine region. To apply, all you need to do is come up with a project idea, either as a group or individually, prepare a presentation document and fill in the online form on our website.

This year’s competition themes are linked to the priorities of the Swiss presidency of EUSALP, with water or mobility, but also the European Year of Skills, with Alpine crafts.

  • Climate Change & Water management
  • - How can we address the challenges caused by climate change and natural risks?
  • - How can we promote a sustainable management of biodiversity and natural resources, especially water?
  • Mobility & Energy
  • - How can we strengthen the sustainable, carbon neutral and emission free mobility?
  • - How can we support the local energy transition and the roll-out of renewable green energy?
  • Circular economy & Alpine crafts
  • - How can we expand and strengthen circular economy in short supply chains?
  • - How to promote Alpine crafts and the know-how of our local companies?
  • Digitalization, Social Innovation & Intergenerational synergies
  • - What services, infrastructures and tools are required to improve social inclusion in the Alpine area?
  • - How can elderly make use of the skills of the younger generation on digitalization and how could they create new fruitful links ?

The competition is undergoing a number of changes, giving us the opportunity to come up with new ways of organizing it. The major change is that the final will be held at an event separate from the annual EUSALP forum. A final event fully dedicated to project competition, youth participation and entrepreneurship will be held in Strasbourg in November 2023.

The competition is part of a broader youth participation scheme, which includes the EUSALP Youth Council, communication tools and summer activities. The aim is to involve a diversity of young people through a diversity of opportunities.

WHAT IS “PITCH YOUR PROJECT”?

“PITCH YOUR PROJECT” is a competition for young people between 16 and 25 years old. As experts of your living space, the Alpine Region, you are invited to submit your project ideas for a sustainable development of the Alpine Region individually or as a group.

Under the motto “shaping.future.together.”, the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP) is looking for your ideas to make the Alpine Region fit for the future.

A jury will select the top 5 projects from all submitted projects. The jury will base its selection on the criteria of relevance, feasibility and innovation potential. The five applicants or group applicants selected by the jury will have the opportunity to present their project, in English, in a five-minute pitch during an international event in November 2023. The finalists will receive support in preparing their pitch and learn how to create a short, appealing and informative presentation. The audience will then vote directly on the five projects. The three best projects will receive prize money from the Region Bourgogne-Franche-Comté for the further implementation of their projects:

  • 5,000 euros for the 1st prize
  • 3,000 Euro for the 2nd prize
  • 2,000 Euro for the 3rd prize

In addition, the winners will be mentored by experts involved in the EUSALP, who will help them implement their project ideas.

PITCH YOUR PROJECT 2023 is financed and organized by the Support EUSALP project and the Region Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
